How Much Does Custom Embroidery Cost in DFW?

By Utsav Thapa 3 min read

Custom embroidery in Dallas–Fort Worth does not have one honest flat price. The total depends on the garment, quantity, logo size, stitch count, placement, and whether the artwork must be digitized. At DFW Impression, embroidery starts at six pieces; an exact quote is based on the actual design and items you choose.

What determines embroidery cost?

  • Garment: a basic polo, performance polo, structured cap, jacket, and work shirt each have different base costs.
  • Stitch count: larger or denser logos take more machine time and thread.
  • Placement: a standard left-chest logo is usually simpler than a large jacket back or difficult cap location.
  • Quantity: producing more identical pieces spreads preparation across the order.
  • Digitizing: a new logo must be converted into instructions the embroidery machine can follow.

What is included in a DFW Impression quote?

We review the artwork, recommended garment, placement, thread colors, quantity, and deadline before giving you a firm number. You receive a proof before production, and we keep the approved embroidery file available for consistent reorders.

How to keep the order cost-effective

  1. Use one logo size and placement across the order.
  2. Combine employee sizes into one six-piece-or-larger run.
  3. Choose garments based on the working environment, not just the lowest blank price.
  4. Send vector artwork when available, while remembering that even vector artwork still requires embroidery digitizing.

A six-piece polo order and a 60-cap order are not the same job

Example: Six polos with a compact left-chest logo concentrate the cost in garment choice, digitizing, and setup. Sixty caps spread preparation across more pieces, but cap construction and a dense front logo can demand more machine time. Quantity matters, but it never replaces looking at the design.

Why we will not publish a fake “$X per shirt” answer

A price without the garment, logo, placement, and quantity is advertising, not a quote. Two logos that occupy the same two-inch box can have very different stitch counts. A lightweight polo and a heavy jacket do not sew alike. Metallic thread, individual names, oversized backs, and difficult placements change the work.

The useful number is the complete decorated price for the exact order. When we quote, we separate anything that will not repeat—such as new digitizing—from the production cost so you can understand what a reorder may look like.

Send these five details and avoid a round of email

  1. The best logo file you have.
  2. Six or more pieces and the size breakdown if known.
  3. The garment type—or what the wearer does all day.
  4. Logo location and approximate finished size.
  5. The date the finished order is actually needed.
Shop-floor note: “Same logo” does not always mean “same embroidery file.” A left-chest polo, structured cap, and jacket back may need different stitch sequencing and sizing.
